Mike Penning MP officially names ‘Navigation Bridge’
3rd October 2011
Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, officially named the landmark bridge at Apsley Lock ‘Navigation Bridge’ earlier today.
The bridge is owned and maintained by the Apsley Lock Residents’ Association which has entered into an agreement with local estate agents Navigation Estates who have given their name to the bridge in return for assistance with the maintenance costs.
Mike Penning said:
“I am absolutely delighted to officially name this bridge ‘Navigation Bridge’. It is a perfect name for the location. I welcome this Navigation Estates’ initiative and the help they have given to the residents’ association in agreeing to fund the maintenance of the bridge. This is a good example of a local business helping to solve a local problem’”
Lindsay McRae of Navigation Estates said:
“We are very pleased to be helping the Apsley Lock Residents’ Association with the maintenance of this iconic bridge. We are keen to explore novel ways of promoting our business and having our name on the bridge is great advertising for us. It really is a win-win situation.”
Navigation Estates will shortly be opening new premises at No.1 KD Plaza in the former Kodak building in Hemel Hempstead town centre.
