Mike Penning welcomes Buncefield company guilty plea

Mike Penning MP has welcomed the decision by British Pipeline Agency Ltd to plead guilty over health and safety charges.
Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning has welcomed the decision by British Pipeline Agency Ltd to plead guilty to charges against it under health and safety legislation.
British Pipeline Agency Ltd was facing charges alongside Total UK, Hertfordshire Oil Storage Ltd, TAV Engineering Ltd and Motherwell Control Systems 2003 Ltd. In November 2009 Total UK pleaded guilty to charges against it.
Charges were brought against the companies by the Health and Safety Executive under the Health and Safety at Work Act and by the Environment Agency of water pollution under the Water Resources Act.

“This is good news and another victory for common sense. We are one step nearer to the end of this sorry episode and one step nearer compensation settlements for those whose claims are still outstanding.”
