Mike Penning congratulates C76 campaigners on their victory at recycling centre inquiry.
Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning, has congratulated the C76 residents working group on the successful dismissal of a planning appeal in respect of a recycling centre adjacent to the C76 railway bridge in Lower Road.
The application by ASM Metal Recycling Limited to use the site for the recycling, recovering and management of waste metal had been rejected by the County Council in February but had been taken to appeal. The planning inspector has dismissed that appeal.
Mike said:
“I am absolutely delighted with this result. This is a victory for local campaigning and democracy. It was an honour and a pleasure to give evidence to the inquiry in support of the local residents and I am very pleased with this result.
“I congratulate Helen Lehrle and the C76 residents working group and pay tribute to the time and effort they have put in to achieve this.”
