Have a family member or friend serving in Afghanistan? Let Mike Penning know so he can ensure they receive a parcel for Christmas.

The ‘Treats for our Troops’ campaign launched by local MP, Mike Penning, is sending hundreds of parcels to our troops in Afghanistan, but Mike would like to ensure that any serving soldier with Dacorum links receives one.

Mike said:
“If anyone has a loved one, family member or friend serving in Afghanistan, I would love to be able to ensure they receive one of our Treats for our Troops parcels.

“All people have to do is give me their name and postal address and I will arrange for a parcel to be with them in time for Christmas.”

Mike Penning is calling on local people to make up shoebox parcels to be sent to our troops. The parcels can be delivered at any one of the following collection points:

• Mike’s office at 6th Floor, Hamilton House, Marlowes (opposite former Market Square), tel: 01442 450444.
• Hemel Hempstead Conservatives, Davidson House, 168 Queensway, 01442 255034.
• Dacorum Borough Council, Civic Centre, Hemel Hempstead
• Hemel Hempstead Gazette Office, 39 Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead HP1 1LH
• Kings Langley: Special Occasions, 19 High Street
• Potten End: Anna Barnard, 9 Hempstead Lane
• Little Gaddesden: Heather Mole, 35 Ringshall

If people are unable to make up a full shoe-box individual items are acceptable and the Hemel Lions are making them up into parcels.

Mike added:
“I urge people to keep the parcels coming. We’re doing fantastically well and from my own experience I know how important and valued these parcels are. I am enormously proud of the response of the people of Hemel Hempstead and am extremely grateful for their support.

“I would also like to thank all those who have helped, especially the Lions for their continued help in packing the individual items into parcels.”
