Mike Penning welcomes positive local unemployment figures

Mike Penning MP has welcomed the latest employment figures for the Hemel Hempstead constituency which were published by the Office for National Statistics on Wednesday.

The number of people claiming unemployment benefit in the Hemel Hempstead constituency has fallen in the past month by 100 and is 320 lower than for November 2011.

Mike said:
“I am delighted that the number of claimants is falling, this shows that the Government is absolutely right to focus on the economy and jobs.

“Of course there is more to be done, but it is going in the right direction and I welcome initiatives at both the national and local levels to create jobs and get the economy going again.”
