Mike Penning pays tribute to Hemel's former MP, Robert Jones.
Commenting on today’s news that Robert Jones has died after a long illness which he fought courageously, Mike Penning said:
“I send my heartfelt condolences to Robert’s wife Jenny, his mother Pam and sister Barbara at this time. They are in my thoughts.
“Robert Jones served the people of Hemel Hempstead as their Member of Parliament for 14 years. During that time he built up a well-deserved reputation as a hardworking constituency MP and many residents, and members of the Conservative Party in particular, will be saddened by his loss, especially at such a young age.
“For the many people he helped during his time as MP, Robert will be remembered as having been there for them when they needed help most.”
