Dacorum Mencap receive Lottery Support but Hemel loses out.

Big Lottery Fund award £29,524 to Hemel’s Mencap.
Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, today offered his congratulations to the staff of Dacorum Mencap who have recently secured a grant of £29,524 from the Big Lottery Fund.
The money provides funding for a three year project to provide a range of leaflets and monthly support meetings for parents of children with learning disabilities and increases the awareness of Autism.
Mike Penning commented today “Whilst I congratulate the hard working and dedicated staff at Dacorum Mencap I am rather disgusted at the general low level of lottery support that is awarded to organisations in Hemel Hempstead. Of the £3.4 million of grants announced in July for the Eastern Region less than 1% went to charitable and voluntary groups based in Hemel.
