Mike Penning congratulates Quilts4London project

Mike Penning has congratulated Irene Heathcote and Catherine Hill and their team on achieving the “Inspire Mark” – the badge of the London 2012 Inspire Programme which recognises innovative and exceptional projects that are directly inspired by the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The group is aiming to make 14,000 pennants to give one to each Olympic and Paralympic participant on their arrival in London.
Mike said:
“This is a great project and a great achievement by Irene, Catherine and their team. They need more people to get involved so I would urge anyone interested to contact them.
“The pennants they produce are of exceptional quality and they have made some for our forces in Afghanistan which I presented on my latest visit.
“I am absolutely delighted for them that they have been recognised in this way and are now part of the official Cultural Olympiad.”
