Mike Penning raises residents' concerns with new Managing Director of Luton Airport.
Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning met with Glyn Jones, the new Managing Director of Luton Airport on Friday (18th January 2008) and was given a tour of the terminal and other airport facilities.
Mike raised local peoples’ concerns about possible future expansion and noise pollution caused by the airport – especially to residents of Flamstead and Markyate but also affecting areas of north east Hemel Hempstead.
Speaking afterwards, Mike said:
“I also asked the Managing Director to take the strongest possible action against pilots and airlines that fly too low over my constituents’ houses and I also raised the issue of the new GPS technology which should narrow the takeoff and landing footprint. Unfortunately no start date for this is available.”
