MP welcomes safety measures at Lower Road
24th July 2008
Mike Penning welcomes the announcement by Hertfordshire Highways that Section 106 money will be used to improve safety at the Lower Road railway bridge.
Highways officials made the announcement at a meeting on Monday night. The money will fund several key requirements of local residents, including a safe walkway under the bridge and additional signage at the approaches to the bridge.
Mike, who presented a petition from local residents to Parliament in May, said:
“I welcome this announcement and am pleased the Hertfordshire Highways have listened to the concerns of local residents. I look forward to work starting on this as soon as possible.”
He added:
“I pay tribute to local residents for making their views known and organising the petition. I hope that this is resolved to the satisfaction of everyone concerned.”
