Mike Penning seeks best South Asian Restaurant for Tiffin Cup 2006.
23rd October 2006
Following last year's success when local restaurant, Bengal Spice, who reached the national final - Mike Penning wants to go one better this year and select the national winner from Hemel Hempstead constituency.
Hemel MP, Mike Penning has launched the annual Tiffin Cup competition to find the best South Asian Restaurant in the Hemel Hempstead Constituency.
The Tiffin Cup is an annual event sponsored by Cobra Beer and organised by a cross-party group of Members of Parliament known as the Tiffin Club. Each MP can nominate one South Asian restaurant from their constituency to go through to a regional final. The winners then attend a cook-in final at the House of Commons.
At the same time money is raised for charity and this year the charity is Paths to Success.
Mike Penning said:
“This is a great way of promoting South Asian food in Hemel. Bengal Spice did very well last year – but that means they are eliminated from the competition this time. We had a great response last time and I hope we will be able to do just as well this year.”
