MP joins Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning, joined staff at Lockers Park School and residents at Hanover Green for coffee on Friday (25th September). Both coffee mornings were supporting Macmillan Cancer Support’s fundraising event – ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.’
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is the charity’s largest fundraising event. Last year two million people around the country took part raising a massive £7.5 million, over 1000 of those coffee mornings took place in Hertfordshire where an amazing £165,000 was raised.
Two million people in the UK are living with cancer and Macmillan hope with the help of people raising money they will be able to reach and improve the lives of every single one of those people. Currently they can only reach half of the people diagnosed.
Mike said:
“I always enjoy meeting people over a cup of coffee and to be able to do that and support a worthwhile cause at the same time is a bonus. Macmillan nurses and staff do a fantastic job supporting people suffering from cancer and their families. I congratulate the organisers of both coffee mornings.”
