Mike Penning congratulates Town Centre Partnership on funding for business launch pad scheme

Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning has presented a cheque for £10,000 to fund the Hemel Hempstead Town Centre Partnership’s new “Hemel Launch Pad” initiative.

The “Hemel Launch Pad” is aimed at giving local budding entrepreneurs the opportunity to apply for free training and up to £500 funding.

Mike said:
“This is another excellent local initiative aimed at helping budding entrepreneurs. I am delighted that the Town Centre Partnership won this funding and I urge anyone with a business idea but who is not sure know where to start to apply.

“Dacorum is putting itself firmly on the map as a great entrepreneur-friendly location!”

The “Hemel Launch Pad” scheme includes training sessions in finance, marketing and writing a business plan. “Launch Pad” mentors will review the plans and those most successful will be awarded a grant of up to £500. Additional one-to-one mentoring and a cost-free market stall. The new businesses will launch at Hemel market in August 2013.
