Mike Penning MP condemns Woolwich Attack
23rd May 2013
Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning has condemned the cowardly murder of an off-duty soldier in Woolwich yesterday.
Speaking this morning, Mike Penning said:
“Along with all my constituents I was horrified by the cowardly cold-blooded murder of the young soldier in the street near Woolwich Barracks yesterday.
“As an ex-soldier myself, I am utterly appalled by these actions and my heart goes out to the soldier’s family who are in my thoughts and prayers today.
“For the attackers to claim it is in the name of Islam is an insult to that religion and to God.
“This is not an attack on a single soldier this is an attack on all of us. As a nation we stand full-square behind our young servicemen and women who serve our country with bravery and pride. We will not be defeated by acts of terrorism.”
