Mike Penning: In planning for the personnel required to enable the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers to fulfil their operational tasking, the Royal Navy has identified those roles and skills where increased numbers in specialist roles, such as intelligence officers, would be required. This has been factored into recruiting and training during the lead up to the in-service date.

Mike Penning: During the period in question I can confirm that British forces launched 73 airstrikes over Syria. 146 munitions were fired including: 88 Paveway IV, 26 Brimstone, 24 Hellfire, three Guided Bomb Units and five Enhanced Paveway II.

Mike Penning: During the period in question I can confirm that British forces launched 696 airstrikes over Iraq. 1530 munitions were fired including: 948 Paveway IV, 97 Brimstone, 260 Hellfire, 33 GBU-12, 31 Enhanced Paveway II, three Enhanced Paveway III, eight Stormshadow and 150 27mm rounds.

Mike Penning: For foreign military flights that are required to complete the Diplomatic Flight Clearance process prior to landing in the UK, it is a requirement of that process to state on the clearance request what the destination is for the next flight on departing UK Airspace.
