Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, visited The Collett School on Monday 13th December to announce the winner of his annual Christmas card competition.

This year’s winner was David Evans and Mike presented him with a WH Smith gift voucher.

Mike said:
“It is a real treat to visit The Collett School who do excellent work and I am delighted that they enjoy the annual Christmas card competition so much. Picking a winner was, as usual, a very difficult task.

“I thank Headteacher Elaine Gardner for arranging a special assembly so that I could present the prize and I enjoyed the Christmas carols very much.”

Mike has run his Christmas card competition in conjunction with The Collett School for the past 5 years.

Pupils at the Collett School have been assessed as having a range of learning difficulties from moderate to complex, including autism.
