Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, has welcomed the payment of cold weather payments for the period 31st January to 6th February to qualifying recipients of Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance or Pension Credit. Payments will be made automatically to those eligible and applies across the entire Hemel Hempstead constituency.

Department of Work and Pensions Cold Weather Payments are triggered when the average temperature at Rothamsted weather station is below zero degrees for seven consecutive nights.

The value of the payment is £25 per week.
