Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, has congratulated all the Conservative candidates on their landslide election win in the local elections.
“I congratulate all the Conservative candidates on their election win last week. It is an incredible result with Conservative councillors elected in all but one ward in the Hemel Hempstead constituency.
“I look forward to working together with the new – and returning – councillors to serve residents of all areas of our town and surrounding area. We have a lot of new blood on the council and a new burst of energy and enthusiasm can only be good for the residents of Dacorum.
“Dacorum has some exciting projects in the pipeline such as the re-development of the town centre and regeneration of Maylands after the Buncefield fire as well as the continued fight to save our hospital.”
Mike went on to recognise the hard work of former councillors who lost their seats in last week’s election. “Inevitably when the tide turns, good and hard-working councillors lose out. Councillors of all parties lost seats in Dacorum last week and I thank them for the work that they did for our community and our towns.”
