Hertfordshire MPs Mike Penning and David Gauke joined pensioner protesters outside Downing Street on Tuesday. The protesters, some of the 125,000 people who have lost their occupational pensions, are campaigning for compensation from the Government. Many of the protesters, such as Peter Humphries from Hemel Hempstead and Dave Allen from Northchurch worked at Hemel employer, Dexion.
Speaking after the event, Mike said:
"It is a terrible tragedy that hardworking and honest people are treated in this way. The Government was presented with a workable solution to the problem but wouldn't listen."
