Mike Penning joins Potten End Post Office campaigners to present a petition signed by 1500 local people to Downing Street.
Petitioners have called on the Prime Minister askling him to listen and prevent the closure of its post office.
The delegation ranged from a 9 year old boy, Peter Smith, to an 82 year old pensioner, Vera Hill, and was led by retired banker and magistrate, Mike Wallis, who arrived on crutches,having recently broken his leg.
Mike Wallis said that ‘for once Gordon Brown should listen to the needs of the rural community and make a decision – to support the continuance of not just Potten End Post Office but all rural Post Offices, as they are an important public service and key to village life.’
