Mike Penning has condemned London Midland’s failure to provide a Sunday service on 6th September.
Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning, has written to the Secretary of State for Transport, Lord Adonis, demanding that London Midland be held to account for their failure to provide an acceptable Sunday service last weekend.
London Midland relies on volunteers to staff its Sunday service – a service that to many of its customers is essential.
Mike said:
“Many people - including emergency workers – were relying on the train service to get to work or to other commitments. It is totally incompetent for London Midland to operate in this way. For many of my constituents, it is an essential service – to cancel the service because of lack of planning is unacceptable.
“Not only is it obviously a breach of their franchise agreement, it is a clear breach of trust as well.
“I have written to the Secretary of State calling for a thorough investigation.”
