Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, visited Hemel Hempstead hospital today to see for himself the boarded-up Tudor Wing. Local residents have contacted him appalled at this latest manifestation of Labour’s dismantling of our hospital.
Mike said:
“It is heartbreaking to see. A perfectly good hospital boarded up with steel shutters. It is not even an old building. This is vandalism pure and simple and it is a real kick in the teeth for the people of Hemel Hempstead.
“I am committed to fighting for our own full service hospital in Hemel and, despite appearances, I really do believe this is still achievable. In the meantime, however, I will continue to press the Government and their NHS bureaucrats to stop the cuts and allow the people of Hemel to have the quality of service they deserve.”
“The Tudor Wing was built under the last Conservative government and opened in 1987. Who then could possibly have imagined that Labour would close it all down just over 20 years later?”
