Hemel Hempstead MP, Mike Penning, has congratulated Community Action Dacorum on their success in the “Peoples’ Millions” win.

Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, has congratulated Community Action Dacorum’s success in their for money from The People’s Millions for their Paradise Sounds Project. The People’s Millions is a partnership between the Big Lottery Fund and ITV in which the public vote for awards for up to £50,000 for projects in their ITV region. The Dacorum project secured an incredible £42,000.

The project will convert a van into a mobile music training facility to take to schools, youth clubs and other community groups all around Dacorum and especially to children and young people who face barriers to learning within the area.

“This is a fantastic result. It is a great project and I am very pleased that local people gave it their backing. I look forward to seeing the project take shape and get out onto the streets of Dacorum.”

The Paradise Sounds Project won the funding as a result of a public telephone vote featured on ITV London Region.
