Mike Penning welcomes David Cameron’s highlight of Labour lies.
During last night’s SkyNews TV leaders’ debate David Cameron repeatedly challenged Gordon Brown to apologise for the lies being published in Labour literature, that we would scrap Winter Fuel Allowance, cut pension credit, end free bus travel for pensioners and get rid of free TV licences for the over-75s.
Mike said:
“It is totally wrong of Labour to peddle these lies and cause confusion and upset amongst older voters. It smacks of desperation when blatent lies are put about in this way. I believe in open and fair campaigning. Politicians should be able to win the argument on the quality of their policies alone – there is no need to invent untruths about opponents.”
