Mike Penning MP has welcomed the guilty verdict against Motherwell Control Systems 2003 Ltd.

Mike Penning, MP for Hemel Hempstead, has welcomed the guilty verdict in the case against Motherwell Control Systems 2003 Ltd at St Albans Crown Court today.

The Liverpool-based company was found guilty of breaches of health and safety legislation in relation to their staff. It is currently in voluntary liquidation.

Mike said:
“I welcome the verdict against Motherwell as a victory for common sense. The sooner all these outstanding cases reach their conclusion the better and we can hopefully the make real progress with the remaining compensation settlements.”

British Pipeline Agency Ltd and Total UK have previously pleaded guilty to offences under the Health and Safety at Work Act. The case against TAV Engineering is still to be concluded.
