Local MP Mike Penning paid a visit to Dacorum Sub Aqua club (DSAC) on its regular Thursday club night at Hemel Hempstead's Sportspace Pool and had a diver training session under the supervision of one of the club's qualified instructors.
Mike says:"The whole experience was very relaxing and the training given was excellent, and very safe. I would encourage anyone looking for a hobby, and a means of keeping fit and healthy, to try scuba diving. I'm proud that Hemel Hempstead has a club that does so much to encourage others into scuba diving by providing equipment, training, pool use, social activities, regular club trips in the UK and abroad - the club even has its own boat!! And it's all here on our doorstep.”
DSAC Club Member Chris Davy adds: "It was great to welcome Mike to club which is around 35 years old. We are a very active and friendly club and organise trips to some of the best destinations in the UK including the Isle of Man, the Farne Islands, Scotland and Devon. Our overseas trips over the past few years have included the Galapagos Islands, Thailand and the Red Sea to name but a few. All of our members have different reasons for diving: an interest in marine life, discovering new dive sites, maritime history, photography, adventure, fitness, travel, to extend their social network - our club caters for all of that and more."
