Kings Langley Villager

20 April 2005

Under Labour each household in Kings Langley, on average, has paid another £5,000 in taxes and over 95% more in council tax. In return we have seen violent crime soar with over 1 million violent crimes committed last year, truancy in our secondary schools rise by 71%, 1 million people on waiting lists for NHS treatment, and hospital infections doubled killing 5,000 people a year . I think the hard working people in Kings Langley are getting a raw deal and I don’t believe it has to be like this.

In Britain we live in a democracy, with standards and values achieved over hundreds of years at the cost of many British lives lost in battle. More and more we find our established values and principals overruled by a remote bureaucracy in Brussels. Labour have already given away many aspects of our sovereignty and plan to gift even more in the future when they back the new EU Constitution. It doesn’t have to be this way!

I do not believe that any of this has to be this way. I will fight for the people in the Kings Langley, will continue to fight to keep our hospital, keep our police station, win back our streets from criminals, protect our green belt and stand up for those who can’t defend themselves. On 5th May 2005 we can all say loudly and clearly – ENOUGH! It doesn’t have to be this way.
