Mike Penning: To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what training the Department has provided for (a) front desk and (b) administrative staff in relation to identity fraud. [41276] Mr. Plaskitt: We provide training for staff in relation to identity fraud according to the needs of the role they undertake within the Department. New entrant induction training covers identity issues and security specific training instruction. Specialist training is provided for fraud officers and for staff involved in national insurance number allocation work according to their role in the process. In particular, front line staff receive training to provide them with the necessary skills to carry out interviews effectively and to check documents, and specialist identity fraud training is specifically targeted at the needs of fraud officers.
In addition to training courses, generalist fraud awareness sessions targeted at all staff are provided by the National Identity Fraud Unit. |
