Police: Hertfordshire

Mike Penning: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received about the performance of police in (a) Hertfordshire and (b) Hemel Hempstead in each of the last seven years. [120020]

Mr. McNulty: The Home Office has received numerous representations regarding police forces in England and Wales. In addition, there have been formal reports published relating to the performance of the police service and of Hertfordshire Constabulary specifically. These can be found on the websites for Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) at:

The most recent police performance assessments were published in October 2006.The latest HMIC publication regarding Hertfordshire Constabulary was the baseline assessment 2005-06, and regarding policing in the Western BCU (which covers Hemel Hempstead) the Western Area BCU inspection (January 2004) and follow-up inspection (December 2004).
